"I've had Systemic Lupus for 23 years..."

I've had Systemic Lupus for 23 years and have been on various medications during those years. In 1992 I went into kidney failure and had to receive high doses of Prednisone through an IV and orally in an effort to save my kidneys. It did and I was gradually weaned off the dangerous drug and started on Plaquenil which I was told I'd be on for the rest of my life. I initially began seeing Dr. Piro for a minor back injury in August 1998, but continued to see her because I wanted to become healthy. I went through all her tests, followed all her instructions and her nutrient therapies to the letter for two years. On my visit to my Rheumatologist last month, I informed him that I had gradually weaned myself off the Plaquenil (which I was supposed to be on for the rest of my life) and am not taking any drugs at all, I'm not experiencing any pain at all, and I feel completely healthy and full of energy. His words to me were that I was "extraordinary" and that he'd never seen a Lupus patient at the point of kidney failure to be able to wean off of the medication and be doing so well. He said whatever I was doing, to keep doing it. Eating healthy, staying fit, taking the prescribed natural supplements, focusing on the positive and having a healthy mental attitude is what I'm doing and it's working.

Thanks Dr. Piro!
